I wish it was ME back in the classroom. I do miss it so much! I will stand at my window and watch all the dressed-up kiddies with their little backpacks and lunch pails, waving bye with their free hand to their mommies watching them off to school. I was like the mother in LITTLE WOMEN who watched and wave till my children were out of sight. It seems like summer only arrived a couple of weeks ago... that is all the sunshine we had. Won't all Maritimers remember this summer of 2009 as the coldest and wettest on record?

I will, also, remember this summer for the SCARE OF MY LIFE! The joy part of this story is that our granddaughter came back to us, but for a horrifying moment Ava stopped breathing. She was swimming when suddenly she started to cough, and after taking her out of the pool, collapsed in Hayley's arm, her eyes rolling back into her head before her breathing stopped. This photo was taken just as our daughter SCREAMED, "my baby's stopped breathing!" I never want to be a witness to anything like that again for the rest of my life!
Our Hudson is growing! Five months old now, he's a beautiful and darling pet. When I said after Jorge died we would never have another dog, I am so glad now that we have him. He's so loving and great company, and I believe the BEST golden retriever anyone could ever hope for. *SMILE*

Will Wonders Never Cease

My photo
Grammy likes piano music, fireplaces, children's laughter (no better sound in the world!), warm weather, bubble baths and blowing bubbles, tea parties, eating out, shopping sprees, dressing up, being creative, collecting vintage ~ children's book (for their illustrations), aprons and pillowcases, old black and white movies, photo albums, Christmas, Old Maid card games, Mother's Day, travelling by plane and train, remembers fondly ~ births of my children and February 3, 2008! huérfanos desde Chiapas, Camp Oneida, Tom Oshiro, Piper Laurie, Maggie and Jorge, Aunt Trudy and Uncle John, Granny Tweddle, Jean, Grammy and Grampy Hendry, all my wonderful online friends, fifth grade, CKC '71, May Festivals and Frank Holton's Public School Girls' Choir, summers in Michigan and Lion's Head, homeschooling, first flight. I dislike being alone (maybe because I shared my mother's womb with an identical twin?), my feet being tickled, mushrooms, whining, family conflict, long distance telephone bills, bugs (especially centipedes, earwigs, all pinchers and stingers), motorcycles, sirens, not having money, saying good-byes just like AVA (it's "see you later" right?), sarcasm, spit.
